SHOWMETRAIN - American National Transportation System
GOVERNMENT SPENDING REDUCTIONS:
Reduced Spending for support programs such as S.N.A.P. (Food Stamp Program).
Reduced spending for unemployment benefits from both the State and Federal Government.
Reduced spending for necessary support of other programs due to reductions in the number of people at or below the poverty line.
These savings would cut the annual expenses for these and other programs..
Economic Boom and the Ripple Effect:
Eventually, with millions of formerly unemployed and underemployed Americans now working directly with the design, manufacture, and construction of the A.N.T.S. project, or in the operation thereof, these workers will now cause a Ripple Effect, which means, these folks will now have money to spend, invest, and payoff their home mortgage. They will buy new homes, cars and trucks, pay off other bills, and get the medical and dental care they need but have been putting off, and maybe even take a vacation. Indirectly, all this activity means more jobs, for more Americans, and what is good for America, is good for the world.
This project is a JOB creator and will be an economic boom to America that will last for decades. Although the current unemployment rate is way down, there are still many people who left the employment roles years ago or are underemployed. The Showmetrain project will also provide the brave men and women who serve our country, our Veterans, with many employment opportunities, once they leave the service. Government expenditures at the state and federal level will go way down when there are fewer citizens who need government support to sustain themselves and their families. The components of this 3 in 1 system also contribute to the National Defense by creating systems we should have but do not, such as a High Speed Passenger Rail System and a Nationwide Electrical Energy Grid.
ENERGY: Provides a national grid to collect and distribute electrical power to just about anywhere on the continent. It will help keep the cost of energy low and available so that outages due to energy supply problems in one region of the country, are kept to a minimum.
COMMUNICATION: Serves as a land based backup to our current ground and satellite networks in case something were ever to happen to some of our aging infrastructure related systems, whether it is due to natural or other causes. Extra bandwidth and truly secure communications are especially needed in emergencies.
HIGH SPEED GROUND TRANSPORTATION: The population of our nation is growing; the airlines have consolidated into what some consider a monopolistic industry, the interstate highways are at times and in many places congested, which not only causes frustration, but is expensive for businesses and consumers in terms of time and fuel-see the related section in the book for estimates on what this costs; it's amazing. Traveling at speeds around 100-300 mph is much safer and efficient on the A.N.T.S. platform than on existing and proposed high speed surface based systems; there are no railroad crossings.
A.N.T.S. Platform: Surveyors, System Designers, Planners, Project Managers, OEM’s to manufacture equipment for the platforms construction, and maintenance; and the same for its components; Energy, Communications, and High Speed Ground Transportation systems.
Government: All levels of government necessary to assist businesses with the route planning, port design and construction (similar to airports), traffic control for the HST operators on the grid, and regulators, inspectors, accounting, and security for all components.
Materials: All manner of raw materials used in construction and installation of the A.N.T.S. platform and related components; Metals (Iron, Copper, Aluminum, Composites, Insulators, Chrome, Rubber, and on and on); Concrete and other materials used in building surface areas, overpasses, and bridges.
Component Operators: Energy (Cable Installation, Sub Station operators), Communications (Installers, and Network Monitors), High Speed Ground Transportation Operators/Engineers (Some migration potentially from AMTRAK), On Board Support, and controllers similar to the FAA..
Construction Crews: Similar to Highway Construction; including skilled and unskilled laborers. Welders, Electricians, Machine operators..
